Cosmetic Surgery Procedures - Buttock Lift

Tip! Most cosmetic surgery is not covered by health insurance unless it is health related. If you have to scrape money together to do this you’re better off looking into non-surgical or less invasive treatments.

Every patient has their own individual needs for plastic surgery. Reshaping the buttock to the region of one’s body can be performed by a procedure called the buttock lift. Depending on the patient, sometimes liposuction and implants are also used to compliment the procedure and produce a more desirable shape.

Patients who have a large amount of loose skin on their buttock region are perfect candidates for a buttock lift. The operation will remove the extra skin and lift the buttock which results in an optimal position with tighter skin and a better texture. Although incisions are made during the procedure scars can be placed so that they are hidden beneath a swimsuit.

Tip! Any cosmetic surgery would require a cosmetic surgeon. Many loan companies that give you a cosmetic surgery loan have a panel of surgeons on their board.

Occasionally buttock lifts are performed on patients who have also undergone tummy tuck or liposuction procedures. This procedure helps remove excess fat from the body but will sometimes leave behind loose skin that has lost its elasticity. On the other hand, some patients desire a fuller buttock shape which requires the use of implants. These implants are made of a material that can’t rupture, deflate or spill. This procedure is referred to as buttock augmentation.

Buttock lifts have gained popularity in the United States as of late. There has been a 152% increase in these procedures between 2002 and 2004. In 2004 there were approximately 4000 buttock lift procedures performed.

However, others can take a more prominent appearance, and some can pose an eventual health risk. For these reasons, some people go to cosmetic surgeons for birthmark removal procedures.
There are three main types of birthmarks:
- Pigmentation birthmarks refer to the type of birthmark where the skin has too much coloring or pigment. This includes some moles, brownish or cream-colored spots, and 0Mongolian spots0 which usually fade away by age 8.
- Macular stains (often called salmon patches) are flat and usually light pink patches of skin often on the neck and eyelids. Sometimes these marks fade, particularly those on children0s eyelids, while many on the neck do not.
- Vascular malformations include one of the most common birthmarks, called port-wine stains, and can be found anywhere on the body. These birthmarks do not fade or go away and can be located in very visible areas such as the […]
